Razorbacks, Red Wolves Rumble in The Rock
For the first time in history, the Arkansas Razorbacks and Arkansas State Red Wolves will meet on the football field, and it’s happening right here in Arkansas’s capital city on Saturday, Sept. 6.
The Razorbacks host the Red Wolves at War Memorial Stadium for the history-making game between the state’s only Football Bowl Subdivision schools. Kickoff is at 4 p.m.
Our teams at the Little Rock Convention and Visitors Bureau and Little Rock Regional Chamber have been working with both universities and the state to make sure residents and guests have opportunities across our City to mark this milestone event before and after gameday. LRCVB’s website includes a rundown of events, ticket and tailgating information, and a countdown clock (12 days and counting, sports fans!)
War Memorial Stadium is sure to be at capacity for the game. We are confident that the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism, which operates the stadium, is ready to welcome fans of both teams.
Our Parks and Recreation Department is focused now on making sure War Memorial Park grounds are in great shape ahead of the game. War Memorial Park surrounding the stadium is a city park, though on game days the state takes over much of the park for parking and tailgating as well. Our crews are doing additional landscaping and maintenance work leading up to Sept. 6.
Events at War Memorial Stadium bring thousands of visitors and many, many more thousands of dollars in economic impact to our City. As we ready for “Red in The Rock!” I encourage you to show your support for your teams, but most importantly, for your City, by recommending local merchants and restaurants to your out-of-town friends, family, and alumni, and by visiting our entertainment districts like the River Market, SoMa, Hillcrest and The Heights.
Stay tuned to the LRCVB website and both universities’ social media platforms for updates about the game and additional events.
