Friends,
Today, I want to take the opportunity to share my personal appreciation to everyone who has played a part in helping remove trees, restore power and recover from the severe weather events from April 2-5. We saw major flooding in parts of the City and a significant wind storm on Saturday, April 5, that took down trees and caused major damage across Little Rock.
Our Public Works Department crews worked overtime throughout this past week to clear more than 100 streets blocked by trees. The first responders in our Little Rock Fire Department, Police Department and MEMS participated in multiple rescue efforts. They responded to people impacted by high flood waters and others who were trapped because of fallen trees.
We take this time to pause and remember 5-year-old Mario Lux-Pacheco, who succumbed to injuries when a tree fell through his home on Mabelvale Pike. We honor his memory and pray for his loved ones in their time of grief. We also offer prayers for others who were injured, or otherwise impacted, and continue to recover.
The impact of this storm again reminds us that we are a strong and resilient City. In the last few years, we overcame historic flooding, extreme winter weather and a tornado. Our emergency response teams are always ready to respond and recover.
During the most recent storm, tens of thousands of residents lost power. Many were without power for several days as our community partner, Entergy, restored service. We thank those residents for their patience, and we know Entergy brought in hundreds of additional personnel who worked around the clock to rebuild heavily damaged electrical infrastructure.
Because of the widespread damage, it will take our team some time to remove all the debris from trees that blocked roads. We appreciate your patience, because we will remove it soon.
If you are still experiencing issues related to the storm, please download the 311 app in the App Store or on Google Play, and report your issue to our 311 team.
We will have additional storm updates in the coming days, so please be sure to follow @CityLittleRock on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube, and sign up for news releases at littlerock.gov/e-news.

Mobile City Hall
Last week, we took City Hall on the road and into the community with our first-ever Mobile City Hall. At this event, residents engaged and interacted with every city department and took advantage of the opportunity to receive city services without having to come downtown.
We enjoyed the opportunity to share with residents of Ward 2 and others from throughout the City about our goals and vision for 2025. We appreciate our host, Longley Baptist Church, who welcomed us to their building for a night of resources, information, fun and fellowship.
Mobile City Hall is one of several ways we are increasing resident engagement this year, in response to my pledge during the 2025 State of the City Address. We want to hear directly from you about how we can improve City services and meet the needs of our residents.
Our next Mobile City Hall is scheduled for Monday, May 5. In coming days, we will provide more information about the location and the services to be offered at that event.
