Friends,

Today's the day we put the "go" in government as we kick off our very first Mobile City Hall! We will be at Longley Baptist Church (9900 Geyer Springs Road) from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. to offer residents the convenience of city service delivery in their own neighborhood.

Come to Mobile City Hall to apply for vacant city jobs. We are conducting interviews on the spot tonight.

Visit Mobile City Hall to pay a fee, whether it be for a District Court fine or a business license.

Come check out our family-friendly events like visits from Little Rock Zoo animals, up-close looks at our police, fire and sanitation vehicles, and a full slate of recreational opportunities from our Parks Department such as pickleball, disc golf and giant Jenga!

Festivities start at 5 p.m. with a full slate of city services available. At 5:30 p.m., we will have a workshop on how to get the most out of the 311 app and another breakout session for residents interested in applying for our $2,000 Love Your Block mini-grants.

At 6 p.m., join me and city department directors for an update on what's going on in the City of Little Rock. We will talk about upcoming projects and leave plenty of time to take your questions.

We are excited about the opportunity to share services, resources and fellowship with our neighbors in Southwest Little Rock and across the City. While this, our first Mobile City Hall, is in Ward 2, the event is open to all residents.

In addition to the above services, you will be able to:

  • Recycle your electronic waste like old TVs, computers and cell phones
  • File or obtain police reports
  • File Code Enforcement Division complaints and learn more about the code enforcement process
  • Apply for a Municipal ID
  • Apply for building permits
  • Take part in the Reading In The Rock initiative, with books available to students for their home libraries
  • Learn about grant opportunities like Down Payment Assistance and Neighborhood Challenge
  • Visit informational tables with resources and support from municipal departments, the Little Rock Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Little Rock Water Reclamation Authority
Food will be available for purchase from the Haygood BBQ food truck, and we will hand out door prizes like Zoo family packs, passes to Jim Dailey Fitness and Aquatic Center, T-shirts and more.

We will see you at Mobile City Hall today at 5 p.m.!
Fire Station Groundbreaking

On the second anniversary of the March 31, 2023, tornado, we came together to remember the event and break ground on a brand-new Fire Station 9, replacing the one that was destroyed by the tornado.

I was joined by firefighters, city officials and community members in the heart of the Walnut Valley neighborhood for the ceremonial groundbreaking. We shared our reflections about the day the high-end EF-3 tornado tore through parts of west Little Rock, and how our entire City united to respond, recover and rebuild.

During this rebuilding phase, we celebrate the progress, seen through business re-openings and home reconstructions. We honor the efforts of first responders like our firefighters and police officers who answered the call and continue to do so, and we commit to working together until a full recovery and a stronger Little Rock is realized.

The new Fire Station 9 is expected to be completed by summer 2026.
