Friends,
Ten days after the devastating tornado that tore through our City, Little Rock residents are showing up to help their friends and neighbors. I'm so proud of the way we've come together to donate time and resources to those who need it most right now.
This past weekend, we had hundreds of volunteers out in the Walnut Valley, Kingwood and Colony West neighborhoods. Even more were stationed at Immanuel Baptist Church's City Center, where our Family Assistance Center was set up as a one-stop shop for food, water and assistance. On this long road to recovery, please keep impacted residents in your prayers and continue to provide them the support they need to build back stronger.
I offer a heartfelt "Thank you!" to every individual and business that has contributed to the relief effort so far. For those of you who still want to help, here's how you can do so:
- Make a tax-exempt donation to Little Rock Cares at www.LittleRock.gov/LRCares. Every penny of your donation will directly assist Little Rock residents.
- Sign up to volunteer at www.LittleRock.gov/volunteer. We're still in need of help to clear and sort debris in the affected neighborhoods and to assist as needed during the recovery.
- Donate canned foods, toiletries, baby formula, diapers and other necessities at our drop-off site, 7000 Murray St. We are accepting donations from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.
Please know our Public Works crews are working overtime to clean up affected areas. Our debris collection site at Reservoir Park is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday for the public to drop off vegetative debris and construction waste free of charge. Each type of debris must be separated to be accepted.
We are committed to rebuilding our City and to doing everything we can to help those in need. God bless everyone of you who are working to help us rebound from this natural disaster!

The Week Ahead
- The Little Rock Board of Directors will meet Tuesday, April 11, at 4 p.m. at the Centre at University Park, 6401 W. 12th St. This meeting is rescheduled from last week, which was cancelled. Immediately after that session, the Board will set its agenda for its April 18 meeting. All board meetings are livestreamed on the City of Little Rock Facebook and YouTube pages. To view the agenda, click here.
- Today, we will be in Ward 2 to talk to the public about plans for investment in streets and drainage projects utilizing the funds approved by voters in last year's bond election. The meeting is at 6 p.m. at Southwest Community Center, 6401 Baseline Road.
- "Impact the Rock: A Day of Unity and Service" is scheduled for Saturday, April 15, as Little Rock observes Global Volunteer Month. Before the tornado struck, we had multiple service projects planned around our City. However, given the March 31 storm, we are asking participants to volunteer on Saturday in impacted areas. Again, please go to www.LittleRock.gov/volunteer to sign up to join us.
