We're just a couple hours away from the 2023 State of the City address, which begins at 6 p.m. at Parkview Arts and Science Magnet High School, 2501 John Barrow Road.

I can't be more excited about sharing our accomplishments from the past year and putting forth a vision for a future that will truly position Little Rock as the catalyst for the new South. Please join me tonight for this important annual speech. It's free and open to the public.

If you can't be there in person, then go to the City of Little Rock's Facebook or YouTube pages at 6 p.m. to watch a livestreamed broadcast of the speech. The State of the City will be rebroadcasted on LRTV, the City's government access cable channel, at 7 p.m, Wednesday, 9 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday.

I appreciate your understanding as we rescheduled the speech from last week because severe storms were in the forecast. If you were planning to attend Thursday, I hope you'll be able to make it this evening.

The State of the City address is a forum for me to discuss priorities for 2023 and to highlight individuals and entities that are helping us grow Little Rock forward together.

• The Little Rock Board of Directors will meet Tuesday, March 7, at 6 p.m. at the Centre at University Park, 6401 W. 12th St. All board meetings are livestreamed on the City of Little Rock Facebook and YouTube pages. To view the agenda, click here.
• The Natural Environment Committee of the Little Rock Sustainability Commission meets at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8, via Zoom. The Sustainability Commission's mission is to help research and develop strategies and innovations to promote environmental and economic health and prosperity within the City without creating unnecessary competition between various aspects of development. 
• The Little Rock Planning Commission will meet at 4 p.m on Thursday, March 9, at the Centre at University Park, 6401 W. 12th St. The Planning Commission makes zoning and land use recommendations to the City Board.
